     INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW

  1. Have you ever watched a Public Works crew “work”, and we use the term loosely?  Recently a road was worked on where a Gradall (1 man) was followed by a dump truck (2 men), a pickup truck (2 men), and a little dump truck (1 man).  The 3 trucks followed the Gradall as it moved down the road working on a ditch.  When the Gradall stopped, all the trucks stopped, the men got out and stood around and talked.  When the Gradall started again, they all got back in the trucks and followed along.  Five men and 3 vehicles could have been doing work elsewhere, but why should they?  No one supervises or seems to care if work is done or done right.

  1. How is the Rec Dept investigation going?  The golf cart that Former Director Don Shipp says is his still sits in his front yard.  The invoice says this golf cart was sold to Jasper County Recreation at 77 Honeysuckle Dr., Mr. Shipp’s home address.

  1. Why has an 18 wheeler been using the Station 3 VFD driveway as a parking lot?  Why does the Director of Fire Services allow this?  This is not only a safety issue, but the weight of the truck and trailer is ruining the pavement.  See pictures here.

  1. Were you one of the people that complained about someone looking over your shoulder while you voted during the Primary, Runoff, and General Elections this past year?  Many people complained about the voting booths being turned so anyone in the room could stand behind you and watch you vote.  There was no privacy and the investigation by the Secretary of State’s office agrees.  See letter citing the violation here.
